Upper Montclair

Upper Montclair, although having its own zip code, is in every other way, an integral part of Montclair, sharing the same school system and government.  It does have a separate town center featuring a wonderful assortment of shops including the anchor stores of Williams Sonoma, The Gap and Talbots, as well as an interesting variety of boutique stores.  There is  and interesting selection of restaurants- a local favorite is Upstairs, known for its great cocktails and interesting Tapas plates, De Novo European Bistro in the old train station (great vibe and really good food, but can be a bit noisy), and Turtle and the Wolf, which has a more creative menu. Brookdale Park (which is run by the county) is a popular destination for outdoor summer concerts, sports, tennis, playground and its dog park.
